Job Summary

EirTrade is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join its Commercial & Finance division. EirTrade is experiencing significant growth and the successful candidate will report directly to the CFO, to draft, implement and monitor legal agreements with various external parties.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide the management team with a clear and concise legal interpretation of commercial agreements.

Responsibilities

  • You will support the CFO in the day to day running of the commercial and legal aspects of the business.
  • You will take ownership, maintenance and development of all commercial contracts and proposals within EirTrade. Such contracts include legal agreements, sale and purchase agreements, lease agreements and insurance arrangements.
  • You will support/lead negotiations and structure documentation with advisors and development partners, including contract development, tender documents and proposals.
  • You will develop, implement and maintain an effective process to monitor compliance with commercial agreements, ensuring that they are in line with approved service levels.
  • You will be the main point of contact for EirTrade’s internal and external customers to resolve queries/issues in relation to commercial agreements.
  • You will lead the valuation of prospective and active commercial projects.
  • You will provide legal advice and support to EirTrade on contractual, commercial, transactional and governance matters.
    You will work within a multidisciplinary team to draft, implement and complete legal agreements with various external parties.
  • You will develop and implement a process to monitor compliance with commercial agreements, ensuring that they are in line with approved service levels.
  • You will implement controls to mitigate EirTrade from risk in relation to its commercial contracts.
  • You will escalate risk issues to the CFO and CEO and provide legal guidance to ensure risks are mitigated.
  • You will provide legal advice to EirTrade on new business undertakings, including global ventures (supported by external counsel).
  • You will be the legal point of contact for EirTrade’s clients and resolve queries in relation to commercial agreements that are in place.
  • You will manage the completion, proof-read, redline, provide input, and execute contracts in line with EirTrade’s standards.
  • You will present legal summary findings in a clear and concise manner and provide recommendations to the company.
  • You will manage the relationship with external legal advisors.
  • You will have strong time management skills and work to strict deadlines.

What we are looking for:

  • A mature commercial decision maker.
  • Candidate may be from a financial, legal or investment banking background.
  • An ability to own end to end of the process.
  • Experienced in direct reporting to C-suite
  • Experience in liaising with legal counsel and negotiating terms.
  • Excellent skills in dealing with multiple stakeholders and communicating in the relevant way that matches the stakeholder’s requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to share the information in a summarised manner as relevant.
  • Minimum 10 years of previous experience in a similar role.
  • Solid business acumen with a working knowledge of business-to-business contracts and service agreements.
  • An ability to manage competing deadlines and manage the relationship with multiple stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with an ability to present and summarise legal recommendations to suit various stakeholders. Proven and demonstrable high level Excel skills (financial formulas, macros etc.) preferable but not essential.
