Job Summary:
As Deputy Quality Manager in the quality & safety team, you will be responsible for promoting and managing a culture of quality, continuous improvement and safety management, across EirTrade’s business. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, implementing effective policies and procedures, conducting audits, risk assessments and providing guidance to all departments.
The team works across the full remit of quality & safety regulations. The team member should have a number of years’ experience within the Aviation Industry and would suit an individual with experience in a quality role or a B1/2 Engineer who has an interest in pivoting their career into compliance & safety.
Responsibilities:
Support the Quality Manager in their function:
- Lead work processes and procedures to ensure there are no breaches in compliance with approved procedures and regulations
- Assist with learning aids and internal team training in the Quality & Safety team
- Be familiar with aircraft and engine components – possessing and ability to be able to identify parts and processes
- Manage an internal audit plan for designated group entities to ensure compliance with approved procedures are always adhered to
- Manage external audits by the Authorities, Accreditation Organisations and customers
- Keeping all policies and procedures documented, relevant and current
- Collaborate with company leadership to facilitate the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of Compliance and Safety Management programmes
- Provide guidance on resource allocation necessary to effectively execute quality tasks within respective departments
- Assist with carrying out investigations to identify the root cause of audit findings, errors & occurrences, ensuring confidentiality and Just Culture
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of Quality Management System (QMS) data to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for continual improvement
- Manage the Maintenance Safety Management System (SMS), change management, hazard identification and risk assessments
- Maintain proficiency in and stay updated on regulatory standards such as EASA Part 145, as well as company procedure manuals
- Lead across file management and integration with IT systems
- Carry out supplier surveys and analyse performance
- Ensure all systems/processes and methods are documented
- Proactively monitor changing legislation to ensure that policies are updated to reflect changes in advance of them becoming live
- Vendor approvals
- Prepare and present to company management periodic quality reports
- Review company operational processes to ensure they are in line with external regulations
Skills and/or Experience required:
- Experience within the EU operational environment
- 3+ years Quality/Auditing/B1 engineer experience within aerospace/aviation industry
- Third level recognised qualification in Aviation preferred
- EASA B1/B2 Licence
- Experience in the development and implementation of SMS
- Hands on experience working with engines /airframes
- Experience in leading aircraft maintenance working teams
- Full EU driving license and flexibility to travel between sites and office
- Extensive knowledge of Regulations and Compliance & Safety procedures in Aviation
- Previous experience working in this type of role in the aviation sector is advantageous
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with an ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to multi-task
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
Candidates please note. As we are located in Greenogue Business Park, Rathcoole own transport is essential. Candidate must have the right to permanently work in Ireland at the time of application. Our working hours are 8.30 – 5.30 Monday – Friday. Interviews will take place in person at our Head Office.
