In the latest issue of MRO Management, Steven Trowell, Senior VP Maintenance and Disassembly at EirTrade Aviation, shared perspective on supply chain and workforce pressures facing the teardown sector.

Trowell notes that teardown specialists are experiencing the same workforce challenges as the wider MRO industry. While there is significant opportunity for automation, he emphasises that a skilled and knowledgeable workforce remains crucial.

“We see significant scope for automation and digital enhancement across a wide range of disassembly tasks. However, human expertise is essential for accurate damage assessment and to ensure timely, safe and trusted structural disassembly, engine teardowns and major component removals.
